FITG Endurance Athlete - Max O'Meara
On Top of the World- Mt. Everest-May 22, 2010
On May 22, 2010, 20 year old Max O'Meara successfully reached the summit of Mt. Everest.
2010 proved to be a difficult year for climbing Mt. Everest and the entire group that Max O' Meara climbed with faced extreme weather. Temperatures on the mountain reached below 40 degrees Fahrenheit and winds were in excess of 50 mph. Due to difficult conditions a significant number of team members did not make it to the summit.
"I'd like to thank Fire in the Gut for being a sponsor of my Mt. Everest expedition. I put two FITG shirts to the test and I have to say I am impressed with how they performed. The biggest thing for me being that I was there for 2 months was that they didn't start to smell even after a week of use. I also used my shirts as a base layer and at that elevation sun can be brutal but when I started to sweat I was glad to have one on because they dry faster than any other fabric I've worn. The fabric is also very durable and I didn't have to baby it in rough conditions. Great product and thanks again". -June 14, 2010
